D’Agostino selected for 2003 Red Bull Driver Search program

The Red Bull F1 Driver Search recently announced the names of the six “scouted” young American drivers selected to participate in this year’s program.

Over the past several months, a team of “expert undercover” scouts searching for the next American F1 driver have been observing the ranks of junior formula series here in the US. One of those drivers is 18-year old Floridian Joe D’Agostino.

D’Agostino will be given a chance to earn a seat with a leading team, racing in a European junior series for 2004 on behalf of Red Bull.

D’Agostino must first make it through the Semi-Final elimination, being held this upcoming week at Sebring International Raceway September 3-5. The other five “scouted” drivers as well as 15 kart racers will join D’Agostino in the intense 3 day event. Only 10 drivers will move on to the Final Event to be held at the Estoril circuit in Portugal. There the final winners will be selected.

D’Agostino had this to say, “This is a fantastic opportunity for me and I feel extremely honored to have been selected for this program. Thanks to Red Bull and their financial assistants, young Americans now have a path to F1.”

D’Agostino wishes to thank Red Bull and its associates for giving him this great opportunity. He also wishes to thank all of his sponsors, Arai, Corsa, Kart Mini, Dodge, Michelin, Skip Barber Racing School and all of his personal sponsors.
